Accomplishments
- Mapped tribal trust lands for the member tribes using GIS/ArcView & BIA/tribal land records
- Completed inventories for stationary, major/minor sources for the member tribes
- Established criteria and meteorological monitoring sites for three tribes (Cherokee, Ponca & Quapaw)
- Established PM2.5 monitoring sites for eight member tribes (Cherokee, Cheyenne-Arapaho, Delaware, Pawnee, Ponca, Quapaw, Sac & Fox and Seminole)
- Helped four member tribes assume their PM2.5 sites by establishing the site, providing an approved QAPP & other protocols, and training their technical staff
- Reviewed approximately 66 Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality new and/or modified air permits as a public commenter on behalf of the member tribes
- Trained approximately 260 tribal participants in the use of GIS, GPS and ArcView mapping
- Assisted four tribes in configuring their computers for GIS, GPS and ArcView software systems (Cheyenne-Arapaho, Kickapoo, Iowa and Choctaw)
- Trained nine tribal participants in PM2.5 instrument operation, site operation and data management
- Trained five tribal participants in source inventory and database management
- Providing PM2.5, PM10 & meteorological independent audits to various pueblos and tribes
Initiatives
- Developing training for member tribes: source inventory & database management; emission inventory & database management; permit reviews; AIRS database management; grant writing; and ArcView
- Seeking IMPROVE, CASTNet and additional ozone monitors
- Seeking Clean Air 105 program delegation for the Cherokee Nation
